Riding on Kiara Shah’s brace, defending champions Cathedral and John Connon School (Fort) kicked off their campaign with a 2–0 win over Bombay Scottish (Mahim) in a girls U-16 Div-I match of the Dream Sports MSSA inter-school football tournament at the Wings Sports Centre, Bandra, on Wednesday.

Kiara scored in the third minute, after pouncing on a rebound to put her side ahead. Cathedral held their ground to maintain the lead into half-time. On resumption, the Scottish girls tried hard but the Cathedral defence stood firm. Kiara then put the game to bed slotting home in the 25th minute.
