When you think of former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic, a montage of images of his exemplary warrior-like skills emerges. Such was the Serbian international’s excellence as a renowned centre back that he almost achieved demigod status during his 300 uncompromising appearances for the Red Devils from 2006-14. And all that almost seemed to be untrue yesterday as Vidic made his way through the ballroom of a city hotel for a chat with select media.
