London: Think of Omar Sharif and the sights that spring to mind are of the actor riding a camel through the desert in &lsquo;Lawrence of Arabia&rsquo; or tramping through the snow of a Russian winter in &lsquo;Dr Zhivago&rsquo;.

But while his connection with the northeast coastal English town of Hull is not yet the stuff of a Hollywood epic, that didn&rsquo;t stop the 82-year-old flying in from his Paris home to cheer on Hull City in their FA Cup final against Arsenal at London&rsquo;s Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Sharif was introduced to the club by Tom Courtenay, one of his co-stars in &lsquo;Dr Zhivago&rsquo; when he shared a London flat with the English acting great in the 1960s.
