Roving forward Yasheshree Jadhav, 14, and goalkeeper Poornima Parad, 14, played significant roles as St Lawrence (Vashi) beat Don Bosco ‘B’ (Borivli) 1-0 in a girls U-16 quarter-final of the Uncle’s Kitchen-sponsored National Sports Day inter-school hockey tournament organised by Republicans Sports Club and supported by Mumbai Hockey Association Limited at the MHAL Stadium, Churchgate, on Tuesday.

Midway through the second quarter, Yasheshree picked up a pass just inside the rival 25-yard line and cut past two defenders before moving deep and firmly pushing the ball past Don Bosco goalkeeper Kavya Pawar.
