London: The Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro has reportedly already put in action part of its security plan for the FIFA World Cup in June after serious violence across the city, including a shootout in the neighbourhood overlooking the England team''s hotel.

One person was killed after police clashed with drug traffickers in the Rocinha slum last week, forcing locals to seek refuge inside their homes and close all doors and windows.
