Former England and Chelsea midfield star Frank Lampard retired on Thursday aged 38, calling time on a playing career that will be remembered as one of the Premier League's finest.&nbsp;

&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Lampard scored 211 goals in 649 appearances for the Blues making him&nbsp;the club's all-time leading scorer. Lampard's brace against Aston Villa in 2013 saw him overtake Bobby Tambling's total of 202 to become Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer.
&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Lampard&nbsp;found the back of the net 29 times for the country and won 106 England caps.
&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Lampard became the first man to captain Chelsea to Champions League success in 2012.
&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Only two other footballers -- Ryan Giggs (632) and Gareth Barry (615) -- have made more English Premier League appearances than Lampard (609).
