Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank admitted his team lacked energy in their dispiriting 0-4 loss to German giants Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Thursday. It was the north London outfit’s final pre-season game before the all-important UEFA Super Cup clash against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on August 13.

“Bayern in my opinion are one of the teams that probably are favourites to win the Champions League. They hit a good level, we didn’t hit a good level, that’s a bad combination, but we will definitely learn from this one. I definitely got some answers that we will look into and we will calmly reflect on it after the game now and look through it. Also, it seems like we lacked some energy somehow which we need to find — no team can play without that energy,” said Frank.

Harry Kane broke the deadlock in the 12th minute, latching onto an long-ball from Michael Olise and lashing a shot past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Kane, however, missed a penalty soon after, but Bayern scored three wonder-goals via Kingsley Coman (61st min), and youngsters Lennart Karl (74th min) and Jonah Kusi Asare (80th min).
