Fresh off his commanding US Open 2025 win, Carlos Alcaraz is once again making headlines, this time, for his bold new platinum blonde hairstyle that has taken the Internet by storm.
The 22-year-old Spaniard, who reclaimed the World No. 1 ATP ranking after defeating Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the final, debuted his striking new look shortly after lifting his sixth Grand Slam title. The transformation was revealed by his personal barber, Victor Martinez, on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Back to No. 1 again and a new look. Carlos we’re crazy.”

Alcaraz's hairstyle has been a topic of conversation since the summer, when a buzzcut, accidentally given by his brother Álvaro ahead of the US Open, sparked a flood of fan reactions. American star Frances Tiafoe humorously described the buzzcut as 'horrendous', though Alcaraz embraced the look with trademark confidence.
Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu weighed in on the viral hair debate, defending Alcaraz’s style choices. Speaking after her own match at Flushing Meadows, Raducanu said, “I think Frances was harsh on him. I think the fact that he does it with confidence and owns it I think he pulls it off. I’d say support him."
Alcaraz’s latest Grand Slam title was earned in dominant fashion. In the final, he overpowered Sinner in four sets and conceded only one set across seven matches throughout the tournament. He was broken just three times, showcasing both offensive brilliance and rock-solid defense.
His performance echoed the consistency of Roger Federer’s 2015 campaign, making Alcaraz the first man since Federer to reach a US Open final while dropping just one set.
At only 22, Alcaraz now holds six Grand Slam titles, joining the elite ranks of tennis legends at an age when many are just finding their footing. The win not only ended Sinner’s 65-week reign as World No. 1 but also gave Alcaraz a commanding lead in the ATP Live Race to Turin, positioning him as the strong favorite to finish the year as the year-end No. 1.
