CWG 2026 | Javelin throw: India’s Neeraj faces Arshad test

The Pakistani star, who won the Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham in 2022 in the absence of India’s Neeraj Chopra, will be joined by compatriot Muhammad Yasir in the qualification round.

Defending Commonwealth Games champion Arshad Nadeem has put behind a difficult build-up caused by inclement weather in Switzerland and is “all keyed up” for the men’s javelin throw qualification round, his long-time coach Salman Butt said.

The Pakistani star, who won the Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham in 2022 in the absence of India’s Neeraj Chopra, will be joined by compatriot Muhammad Yasir in the qualification round. India will field Neeraj Chopra, Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh in the event.
