Lando Norris battles wet conditions to clinch pole; Hamilton slowest

Lando Norris clinched his third consecutive Formula One pole with a stunning lap in wet Las Vegas conditions, extending his championship momentum. The McLaren star edged Max Verstappen, while Lewis Hamilton endured a tough session, finishing last after struggling with tyre heat

Lando Norris maintained his charge towards a maiden Formula One crown on Friday by grabbing his third pole position in as many races at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver, who has surged into a 24-point lead in the drivers championship, clocked a fastest time of 1 min 47.934 secs in wet conditions. Red Bull’s world champion Max Verstappen was second fastest (1 min 48.257 secs).
