USA's champion gymnast Aly Raisman has posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition with a strong message.
Days after Larry Nassar, the disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor, was imprisoned for life after a Michigan court heard from numerous sexually harassed victims, including Raisman, the gymnast has stressed upon the need for women empowerment.
Raisman posted the below picture on Instagram of one of her shots for the magazine, with 'fierce' written on her arm and 'Women don't have to be modest to be respected' inked across her leg.
Alongside the picture, she wrote: "Women do not have to be modest to be respected -- Live for you! Everyone should feel comfortable expressing themselves however makes them happy. Women can be intelligent, fierce, sexy, powerful, strong, advocate for change while wearing what makes them feel best. The time where women are taught to be ashamed of their bodies is OVER. The female body is beautiful and we should all be proud of who we are, inside and out."
Raisman, a six-time Olympic medalist told Nassar firmly last month: "You have not taken gymnastics away from me. These brave women have power and we will use our voices to make sure you get what you deserve:&nbsp;A life of suffering."
