A South Mumbai jazz pub, a Netflix thriller and an origin story

A quick verdict on the buzz

Listen to this article :

Too much gore

Gerald's Game, a Netflix original, is driven by the twisted plot of a Stephen King novel. A couple struggling to spice up their marriage head to a remote lake house. The husband, Gerald, handcuffs his woman, Jessie, when he unexpectedly dies of a cardiac arrest. What follows is absolute gore as a wild dog enters the home and eats into Gerald's body, piece by piece. Jessie, who is still wounded from the trauma of being abused her dad, is torn between introspecting her past and surviving the dog and another monster. By the end of it, there is a lot of blood, which will definitely get you squirming. This one is not for the faint-hearted.

All that jazz

There may have been many wistful exchanges about the return of Blue Frog, and while those plans are yet to see the light of the day, The Quarter, south Mumbai's latest and much-needed jazz hub might have a few answers. With acoustics, which music enthusiasts deem 'better than Blue Frog', The Quarter has a lot going for it with its chic upholstery, soft lighting and just the right kind of alcohol to go with it. The historic campus of the Royal Opera House makes it even more sweet a spot. Looks like the townies have got their tune back!
