The Mumbai monsoon is brutal on your soles. But a little scrub and care can bring back the spring in your step
A dash of salon pampering
The rains don’t just drench our roofs and roads; they sneak into our shoes, too. Whether you’re dodging puddles or getting your festive shopping started, your feet are putting in the work. Cracked heels, grime-stained toes, and that odd smell you can’t quite place are not a good look. So, here are pedicures that hydrate, de-tan, soften and sanitise, plus a few you can DIY at home.
Lux detox pedicure
Give your feet a pedicure that works like a full-body reset. Nailbox’s 75-minute detox ritual is built to purify and recharge. A detox scrub, therapeutic mask, foot massage and a luxe finish later, your soles will feel revived and ready for anything.

Bombini ‘ice cream’ pedi

This signature pedicure is a mood lifter and a foot fixer. It’s a six-step “ice cream” pedicure that is equal parts pamper and play. Choose from flavours like First Love (jasmine and lily), Strange Fruit (mandarin and grapefruit), or Miss Fancy Pants (cocoa and shea butter). It smells like a sundae, and leaves feet soft enough to flaunt in festival sandals.

Sugar peel pedi

A pedicure that’s perfect for feet that need a detox. Think: an aromatherapy soak, a gentle sugar scrub that buffs off rain-induced dullness, a lemony hydrating mask, and a warm towel wrap. The hot-stone massage is the cherry on top.
It’s a proper monsoon reset
with dessert energy.

DIY your way to relaxed feet
Papaya and honey polish
Rid yourself of dead skin, cracks, and dryness with this easy rub. Mash ripe papaya with a spoonful of honey and a pinch of sugar. Rub into your heels, leave for 10 minutes, and rinse. Papaya enzymes slough off dead skin while honey soothes cracks and dryness.
Honey-lemon massage
Leave your feet feeling fresh and odour-free in minutes, because this classic honey-lemon combo heals all. Mix warm honey with a few drops of lemon juice. Massage into your soles for 10–15 minutes, avoiding cuts. Then rinse and pat dry to achieve soft feet with a fresh scent.
Antifungal salt soak
Damp feet all day can lead to minor fungal growth between your toes. You can easily keep your feet clean by soaking them in warm water with Epsom salt and a splash of antiseptic. Dry them thoroughly and dust with an antifungal powder, especially between toes. This helps keep smelly soles and fungal flare-ups in check.
Sock therapy
Apply a thick layer of foot cream or almond oil, wear clean cotton socks, and sleep. Wake up to softer heels.
Paraffin wax therapy
Get a salon-style paraffin wax treatment at home with Paraffin Wax Works lavender booties (available on Amazon). Microwave, wear for 10 minutes, then massage in the leftover wax. It softens dry skin, boosts circulation, and seals in moisture. Perfect for rain-soaked, tired feet!
