On a hot and humid Wednesday, we head towards Balkum, Thane, where protests by residents have brought Amazon’s hyperscale AI data centre into the national spotlight.
Until then, most Mumbaikars did not know that there was an AI data centre coming up in their backyard. The few who did, might have even shrugged it off with a “So what?” Not the residents of Thane, though.
