11.30 am: The weekend can&rsquo;t get better than having books for company. The Literati Caf&eacute; &mdash; a book club &mdash; is a platform for all book lovers to meet and discuss books over a cup of hot coffee. This week the participants will discuss Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
The book tells the story of a young couple, Nick and Amy. The first half of the book deals with the change in the lifestyle of the couple on moving from New York to Carthage, once Nick loses his job as a journalist. Amy and Nick&rsquo;s contradicting views on each other leave the readers curious. The second half deals with the couple&rsquo;s secrets. Nick has an affair whereas Amy, who goes missing in the first half, wants Nick to get into trouble for her disappearance. What is the future of the couple? Will they be able to understand each other and their desires?

Life as we know it
7.45 pm: On-screen couple, Anoop Soni and Smita Bansal, team up to present a play called Hum Do Hamare Woh. The play revolves around a couple on the verge of a divorce after having lived together for almost 15 years. Samir (played by Anoop Soni) believes that he is going to die and announces his wife Saloni&rsquo;s (played by Smita Bansal) remarriage. In an interesting turn of events, Saloni&rsquo;s friend comes into the picture and once the marriage has been fixed, Samir gets to know that he isn&rsquo;t dying.
In the confusion, what will Saloni&rsquo;s decision be? What will happen to Samir? And what will Saloni&rsquo;s friend go through? Go and find out.

Restoring peace between two worlds
1 pm and 9 pm: Tune in to watch Elysium, the story of Max, played by Matt Damon, who takes up the mission to bring equality between the worlds of Elysium and Earth. The plot is set in the year 2154 where two classes of people exist. The wealthy ones live on Elysium, while the rest live on Earth. A government official will do anything to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. Put on your dancing shoes
3.30 pm to 7.30 pm: Have you always wanted to learn hip-hop or be a b-boy/ b-girl? Here&rsquo;s an opportunity. A dance workshop invites dancers and amateurs of all ages to come and learn the moves of hip hop and B-boying. The workshop not only teaches participants but also gives you a chance to enjoy dance performances by professionals.

The paintings depict his style of expression through oil on canvas.

Saving the world 12 pm onward: Rang Rangila Gittu Girgit is the story of a simple chameleon who wants to bring back colour in his life. But on a larger level, the play aims to encourage the audience to think about how mankind is destroying environment in the name of urbanisation. Written and directed by Dhanendra Kawade, the cast includes Trupti Khamkar, Neha Sharma and Anuja Kale.

Jazz it up 7:30 pm-12:30 am: musician Louis Banks has curated a special event to commemorate International Jazz Day. Every year on April 30 this international art form is recognised for promoting peace and dialogue among cultures and reinforcing the role of youth for social change. As part of the celebrations, along with Banks, artistes, including Dhruv Ghanekar, Gary Lawyer, Gino Banks and Shefali Alvares, will pay a tribute to the art of jazz.

The magic of illusion 9 pm: World-renowned conjurer Criss Angel is back with his new show titled Criss Angel Believe. In this show, audiences will get a behind-the-scenes look at how Angel and his team of experts craft the illusions. Each episode will focus on his quest to perform a new demonstration. Viewers will also get to see how and where his team brainstorms, debates, constructs and helps him execute illusions.

Friends for life 2 pm: the musical Flubber and Friends tells a tale about how Flubber, a clown, and his pals experience life in all its innocence. In their pursuit of happiness, they discover a whole new world. Martin D&rsquo;Souza plays the role of Flubber.&nbsp;
The play also has several social and life messages presented through song and dance. The piece features original songs along with comedy, magic and live interaction with the audience.

It&rsquo;s raining pizzas
Ongoing till Wednesday, 12 pm to 11.30 pm: The restaurant New Yorker, which first opened shop almost 30 years ago, is hosting a pizza festival till the end of this month. The eatery has added over 16 new pizzas to its menu for the month, specially for the festival. The list of new pizzas include Bombay Masala Pizza, Olympiakos, the hummus based Pizza topped with Feta Cheese, Pizza Chocolata and the Pita Pizza, among others.

Junk music and art
Saturday, 10 am to 12.30 pm: Ever wondered what to do with all that junk that&rsquo;s lying around your house? Well, you can now make music out of it. Beats &amp; Brushes Recycled is a two-day workshop on how you can utilise the junk in your house, the best way, through the medium of art and music. On Saturday, you can learn the basics of rhythm and music followed by how to make music from material like empty bottles, cans, spoons and paper. The day will conclude with a group performance by the participants. Participants should be between eight to 11 years of age. The event is scheduled to be held on May 3, so hurry up and register!

The real gang
Tuesday, 6.30 pm onward: Directed by Nishtha Jain, the documentary Gulabi Gang tells the story of the famous pink sari-clad women of Gulabi Gang, in the badlands of Bundelkhand in central India. They don&rsquo;t think twice before travelling long distances to seek justice for women and Dalits and remain undeterred by sneering policemen. Sampat Pal, a no-nonsense woman, is the gang&rsquo;s leader. The gang encounters resistance everywhere &mdash; including villages that unite to protect criminals. The gang was recently in the news when Pal got a stay order from the Delhi High Court on the release of the Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla-starrer Gulaab Gang, which is believed to have been inspired by the real-life gang. Today, 12 noon onward: Head to The Russian Centre where the Enlighten Society will screen three of director Roman Polanski&rsquo;s best films &mdash; Rosemary&rsquo;s Baby, Chinatown and The Pianist.
Rosemary&rsquo;s Baby is a psychological horror film based on the bestselling 1967 novel Rosemary&rsquo;s Baby by Ira Levin. The film revolves around a pregnant woman (Mia Farrow) who fears that her husband may have promised their neighbours their child to be used as a human sacrifice in their occult rituals.
Chinatown, which stars Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, was inspired by the California Water Wars, a series of disputes over southern California water at the beginning of the 20th century.
The Pianist, starring Adrien Brody, is a World War II memoir by the Polish-Jewish pianist and composer Wladyslaw Szpilman.

Tuesday, 7 pm onward: The Barking Deer Brew Pub is all set to host a Game of Thrones-inspired night tonight. This medieval- themed evening will comprise a quiz night to test the participants on the Game of Thrones. Join a team of three-four people and play trivia testing your knowledge on beer and the Game of Thrones series. Winners will be awarded the first tappings of The Ale of Heros, a hearty, robust Scotch Ale (not for the faint-hearted). Once The Ale of Heros has been tapped, the grand Game of Foams Feast shall commence with much fanfare. Enjoy a majestic spread of roasted meats, succulent vegetables, mounds of jacketed potatoes, desserts and all the fixings in banquet style. Blood, wood and art
Ongoing, 11 am to 6 pm, Monday-Saturday: Tarq, the latest gallery to open in Colaba last month, presents its second show, titled One Day It Will Come Out by Soghra Khurasani. Khurasani is a Baroda-based artist. In her first solo show, she looks her complex practice, which &ldquo;revolves around reactions to the political and religious realities of being in India today&rdquo;. She often returns to the imagery of blood cells in her work to blur the line between powerful emotions and biological reality.
The exhibition includes several forms of printmaking and new media. Her print works include woodcut, etching and serigraphy techniques. Khurasani participated at the Kochi Biennale, the Birla Academy of Art and Culture (Kolkata) andUnited Art Fair (Delhi).
