A close friend of mine recently told me that he liked me, and I was surprised to realise that I felt the same way about him. We spoke about it for a while and, since that conversation, we have not had a chance to meet or discuss what happened. I don’t know if this means we won’t be close friends, or if he wanted me to suggest being in a relationship. The conversation was unexpected, so I don’t know if either of us has been able to process it and figure out what to do about it. Should I reach out and ask him if he wanted us to consider a romantic relationship?
Yes, you have to reach out and talk, because guessing what is going on in someone’s mind is never a good idea. It’s great that you were both honest about your feelings, but what happens next depends entirely upon whether you both want the same things. Talk about the possibility of a relationship, why he wants one, and what you both expect from each other, because that will allow you to take time and think about whether this is viable. It also allows you both to take a step back and ask for time or come to the realisation that a friendship is more important and easier to manage. Your ability to continue having this conversation with openness will also eliminate any awkwardness about what happens next.

I’m pretty sure my boyfriend cheated on me, but he won’t admit it. Should I end this relationship without proof?
If you don’t trust your boyfriend, there is no future in this relationship irrespective of whether he cheated on you or not. Evaluate why you feel this way, think about other instances that have caused you to doubt his faithfulness, and consider whether his behaviour makes it impossible for you to continue trusting him. At the end of the day, proof will validate your feelings, but not being able to connect with him has already caused some damage.
