I recently ended a relationship after two years and have been trying to rekindle the bond we had with the hope that we can be friends. My ex just unfriended me on Facebook and removed me from his contact list, but I have been considering messaging him online to ask if we can be friends. I don’t know if this is a good idea because I sometimes feel that moving on without him in my life will be better for us both. At the same time, we used to have a great bond before things became difficult between us, and I think we could both benefit by having each other if we could put the romantic aspect of our lives behind us. Are there any pros or cons to doing this?
This boils down to whether you both feel the same way about each other, because that is all that matters. Weighing the pros and cons is all very well, but none of it matters if he isn’t reciprocating, or if he can’t see the point of staying in touch. If he isn’t in touch, he has his reasons, and all you can do is message him and hope that he responds. If he does, you can have that conversation about rebuilding your friendship. At the very least, he may ask for time and space before being able to meet you halfway. Send him a message and ask if he’s okay with talking about it. Also remind yourself that he may want to stay friends but may find it difficult if he hasn’t been able to come to terms with the end of your relationship the way you appear to have.
How do I boost my girlfriend’s confidence in her looks?
You can reinforce the message by telling her how you feel and saying all the right things to make her feel better, but that may not be enough. Ultimately, this is something she has to work on by herself because building confidence is often a personal journey.
