I am trying to manage my weight again but it’s not easy. How can I save this relationship?

I have been dating a guy for around two years and, over that period, I have struggled with managing my weight. He has been very understanding but recently told me that he wasn’t sure if this relationship was working because he felt as if there was too much expected of him. He said he sometimes lost interest in me because of my body and wasn’t sure he could stay faithful. I love him a lot and know he loves me too, which is why this has been devastating for me. I am trying to manage my weight again but it’s not easy. How can I save this relationship?
You may love each other a lot, but strong relationships aren’t just built on love alone. Mutual respect and unconditional support are critical for anything long-term, and your boyfriend is being open about his inability to commit. You should ask yourself if you want to be with someone who isn’t prepared to be by your side when you’re dealing with a challenge, be it about your weight or an emotional issue. This doesn’t make him a bad person, but it is a strong indication that he may not have what it takes to manage a serious relationship over time. The comment about being unfaithful is also a red flag, because it isn’t something one should say to a partner under any circumstances. Not being attracted to a partner is okay but making them feel bad about something they have little control over borders on cruelty. This is something you should evaluate carefully.
An old friendship is being threatened because my friend has begun dating a guy who doesn’t like me. He doesn’t say this openly because he knows his girlfriend and I are close, but he undermines me whenever he gets a chance, and I have started to notice that my friend is being increasingly influenced by him. What should I do?
Talk to your friend and be honest about how you feel because friendship is always a two-way street.
