Anushka Ranjan reveals she cried in pain during IVF treatment: 'Took around 150 injections'

Anushka Ranjan is embracing a new chapter as she prepares to welcome her first child with husband Aditya Seal. However, the road to pregnancy was far from easy. Anushka recently spoke candidly about undergoing IVF treatment and busting common fertility myths. She also opened up about the physical challenges she faced, including taking nearly 150 injections during the treatment.

Anushka Ranjan recalls painful IVF treatment

In her vlog, the actress revealed that she and Aditya had been planning to start a family since 2023. However, it was her sister, Akansha Ranjan, who advised her to consult a doctor. Busting myths around intimacy and pregnancy, Anushka shared, "You know, from childhood we are taught that if you get intimate with someone, you'll get pregnant. And it's not true. It's really not true."

She added, "Your chances are only 15% every cycle to have a baby. I was shocked that we are never given this information."

She further revealed that despite having good egg and sperm quality, it was difficult for them to conceive, after which doctors advised IVF. Anushka recalled, "When they said the next step would be IVF, I personally felt like, 'Oh my God, does that mean something is wrong with me? Is there something lacking in us?' I just want to break that myth. That is not true. It doesn't mean there is something wrong with your body. It's just body to body. It's life to life. It's person to person."

Remembering her painful IVF journey, she shared, "Let me just tell you that IVF is not an easy journey. If somebody makes you feel like it's the easy way out, I am sorry, but the amount of injections, medicines and everything you have to go through is no joke. There is emotional pressure, sometimes family pressure."

Opening up about the physical challenges, Anushka revealed, "I think I took around 150 injections. I used to get very scared. I used to cry and cry in pain."
