After the success of Mirzapur: The Movie, actor Divyenndu is looking back at a 15-year journey in the Hindi film industry, one that has taken him through contrasting characters, genres and formats. From his early work in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chashme Baddoor to the cult popularity of Mirzapur, the actor has steadily built a diverse body of work.
The actor's milestone 15th year has turned out to be particularly memorable, with Peddi finding success in theatres, Glory making an impact on OTT, and Mirzapur: The Movie adding another major release to his filmography.
Reflecting on the phase, Divyenndu said he feels fortunate to have consistently found opportunities that allowed him to experiment with his craft. "I feel quite blessed, lucky, and fortunate that in all these years of working in the film industry, I've always had the chance to be a part of different stories and play different characters," he said.
For the actor, staying committed to every role has been central to his journey. "What I have always done with utmost sincerity is play the character to the best of my ability," he added.
The actor believes his latest successes are also a reminder of the importance of perseverance. "The fifteenth year is definitely proving to be a really lucky year. Two theatrical hits, and Glory on OTT. I guess the patience has paid off," he said.
Divyenndu further emphasised the importance of continuing to believe in oneself, regardless of how long the desired opportunities take. "It shows that if you believe in yourself, the right opportunities come. You just have to keep going," he said.
While his filmography has evolved considerably over the years, Divyenndu says the appreciation from audiences has remained a constant source of encouragement.
"I am very happy and I feel fortunate that my audiences and my fans have always appreciated my efforts," he said, adding, "It's not just me; it's their love and support that has carried me through all these years."
With Madgaon Express, Glory, Peddi and now Mirzapur: The Movie adding newer dimensions to his career, Divyenndu's 15th year marks another phase in a journey defined by varied choices and patience. Mirzapur: The Movie is currently screening in theatres.
