Every year, Cinco de Mayo is observed on May 5 to celebrate Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Over time, the celebrations have extended across the US and the world, and have importantly become an interesting opportunity for people to explore Mexican cuisine.

It is no different in India, and more particularly Mumbai, where restaurants are celebrating the festival with good food and drinks.

Here's your complete guide to Cinco de Mayo food menus in Mumbai:

From tostadas to tacos

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Someplace Else by indulging in some delicious Mexican delicacies but with a twist. They are bringing the bold and bright flavours of Mexico straight to your table on May 5.

Expect golden, crispy tostadas loaded with fresh, zesty toppings; smoky chipotle chicken skewers grilled to perfection; and a Tex-Mex flatbread that's equal parts indulgent and irresistible. We're also turning up the flavor with our Mutton Kakori Tacos- an Indo-Mexican fusion creation that marries rich Indian spices with the street-food soul of tacos.

No celebration is complete without cocktails. Along with the food, they are also serving classic margaritas with just the right tang, and cranking up the heat with our bold and fiery Picante.

Tequila Tacover Fest

Le Café is set to turn up the heat this summer with the return of its much-awaited Tequila Tacover Fest, kicking off on May 5 in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, and unlike most other places will go on for a month.

Bursting with bold flavours and delicious pairings, the festival aims to be a lively ode to Mexico's most loved culinary traditions, reimagined at the city restaurant.

The menu kicks off on a zesty Traditional Molcajete Guacamole served with crisp tortilla chips. Follow it up with an indulgent Le Café Nachos (Mexican Edition)

Tacos take over in the most delicious way, with a lineup that includes Trio Bean Taco to the juicy, flavour-loaded Pulled Lamb Tacos with smoky BBQ and peri peri glaze, and The Cottage Cheese Tacos too.

You can also indulge in cocktaails such as the Tropical Twist Margarita or the classic Jose Cuervo Margarita. For something a little more unexpected, the Saffron Highball and Glass of Gold.

Turning up the heat are the Habanero Specials with dishes such as fiery Habanero Hot Wings and the robust Habanero Chicken Steak, bringing an intense, smoky depth to the table.

End your meal with the decadent Tres Leches and crisp, cinnamon-dusted Churros.
