A power outage affected parts of central and south Mumbai, including Dadar, Wadala, Parsi Colony, Girgaon and Gamdevi on Friday evening.
The officials said that in Dadar, Wadala and Parsi Colony power was affected after a technical fault at the Kings Way receiving station in Dadar.
The electricity supply was affected in Girgaon and Gamdevi following a fire in transformer of High Voltage Distribution Board which would take about an hour to restore the power.
According to information shared by BEST's Public Relations Office, the disruption was reported at around 9.25 pm on May 22 after Transformer No. 2 and Transformer No. 3 at the receiving station experienced an air trip, leading to an interruption in electricity supply.
"Repairing work is in progress by BEST. It will take around four hours to restore supply," an official statement said.
BEST officials said repair and restoration work began immediately after the fault was detected. The officials estimated that it could take nearly four hours to fully restore power supply in the affected areas.
Technical teams were deployed at the site to carry out repair operations and monitor the situation.
Residents in some areas reported temporary disruption to household electricity and local services following the interruption.
BEST officials said efforts were being made to restore electricity supply at the earliest. Further updates are expected once repair work is completed and power is gradually restored across all affected zones.
