Mumbai: Level-I fire breaks out at Govandi industrial estate; no injuries reported

A Level-I fire broke out at an industrial estate in Govandi East on Thursday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) and other emergency agencies. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to civic officials, the fire was reported at around 1.27 pm at Majethia Industrial Estate on Waman Tukaram Marg in Govandi East. The blaze was confined to electrical wiring, electrical installations, tables, chairs, papers and wooden furniture on the first floor of the ground-plus-one industrial structure.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared the incident a Level-I fire at 2.04 pm and deployed firefighting teams to the spot. Personnel from the police, Adani Electricity, the 108 ambulance service and local ward staff also joined the rescue and firefighting operations.

Officials said the fire was successfully extinguished at 4.08 pm. No casualties or injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Fire breaks out at Jio mobile tower near Thane railway station, no injuries

A fire broke out at a Jio mobile tower located within the premises of Anand Cinema near Thane Railway Station in Kopri, Thane East, on Thursday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to officials.

The Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell said it received information about the fire at 8:14 am on June 25.

Emergency teams respond swiftly

Following the alert, personnel from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL), Jio, Kopri Police, the Thane Municipal Corporation Disaster Management Department, and the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot. One fire engine was deployed to contain the blaze.

Firefighters and disaster management personnel worked to bring the situation under control and completely extinguished the fire by around 9:05 am.

Situation under control

Officials said the fire was successfully contained, preventing it from spreading further. The situation is now under control, and no injuries or casualties have been reported.

Eight vehicles damaged in Thane wall collapse

In another incident, eight vehicles were damaged after the boundary wall of an open plot collapsed in Maharashtra's Thane city shortly after midnight on Thursday, officials said.

No person was injured in the incident, they said.

The compound wall collapsed onto parked vehicles near a chawl (row tenement) in the Wagle Estate area of Thane, Regional Disaster Management Cell chief Yasin Tadvi said.

Seven auto-rickshaws and a motorcycle were damaged, he said.
