Central Railway will operate a mega block on its suburban network on Sunday, October 4, to undertake engineering and maintenance works, affecting services on the Main and Harbour lines.
As per the official statement from Central Railway (CR), the block will be operated on the CSMT-Vidhyavihar UP and DOWN slow lines on the main line from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm.
On the Harbour line, the UP and DOWN lines between Panvel and Vashi, excluding the PORT line, will be blocked from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm, as per the Central Railway.
On the main line, DOWN slow services departing CSMT between 10.48 am and 3.45 pm will be diverted to the DOWN fast line between CSMT and Vidhyavihar.
These services will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla before being diverted back to the DOWN slow line at Vidhyavihar.
Similarly, UP slow services departing Ghatkopar between 10:19 am and 3:52 pm will be diverted to the UP fast line between Vidhyavihar and CSMT.
Officials further said that the diverted services will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla.
On the Harbour line, UP services towards CSMT departing Panvel between 10:33 am and 3:49 pm and DOWN services towards Belapur/Panvel departing CSMT between 9:45 am and 3:12 pm will remain cancelled during the block.
The Trans-Harbour line will also be affected. UP services towards Thane departing Panvel between 11:02 am and 3:53 pm, and DOWN services towards Panvel departing Thane between 10:01 am and 3:20 pm, will remain cancelled.
Central Railway said special local trains will be operated between CSMT and Vashi during the block period to facilitate passenger movement.
Trans-Harbour services will continue to operate between Thane and Vashi/Nerul, while services on the PORT line will remain available during the block.
Central Railway further urged the passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the railway administration.
Central Railway will operate two special suburban services during the intervening night of October 3 and 4 for participants travelling to the Sekhon Indian Airforce Marathon 2026, an official statement said on Thursday.
The marathon is being organised in memory of Indian Air Force Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon.
Kalyan-CSMT special: On the Main Line, the Kalyan-CSMT Marathon Special will leave Kalyan at 2.30 am on October 4 and reach CSMT at 4 am.
Panvel-CSMT special: On the Harbour Line, the Panvel-CSMT Marathon Special will depart Panvel at 2.40 am and arrive at CSMT at 4 am.
Both special services will halt at all stations along their routes, Central Railway said.
