<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-central-railway-to-launch-massive-month-long-ticket-checking-drive-from-october-1-check-details-here-23652319" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Central Railway</a>&nbsp;will operate two special suburban services during the intervening night of October 3 and 4 for participants travelling to the Sekhon Indian Airforce Marathon 2026, an official statement said on Thursday.
The marathon is being organised in memory of Indian Air Force Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon.
Kalyan-CSMT special: On the Main Line, the Kalyan-CSMT Marathon Special will leave Kalyan at 2.30 am on October 4 and reach CSMT at 4 am.
Panvel-CSMT special:&nbsp;On the Harbour Line, the Panvel-CSMT Marathon Special will depart Panvel at 2.40 am and arrive at CSMT at 4 am.
Both special services will halt at all stations along their routes, Central Railway said.
<h2>Services for marathon participants</h2>
The special services have been arranged to facilitate the travel of participants taking part in the Sekhon Indian Airforce Marathon 2026.
Central Railway has requested passengers to take note of the services and make use of the facilities.
<h2>CR announces 12-day blocks at Kasara from Oct 7</h2>
Meanwhile, the Central Railway on Thursday said that it will operate special traffic and power blocks at Kasara for 12 days from October 7 to 18 to carry out work related to the Asangaon-Kasara third line project and the extension of the UP yard line towards Igatpuri.
The railway has announced changes to suburban, Mail and Express train services during the first phase of the work from October 7 to 9.
The blocks are being carried out for pre-Non-Interlocking (NI), Non-Interlocking and post-NI work at Kasara Yard.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/maharashtra-central-railway-to-introduce-first-daily-train-service-between-beed-pune-23650336" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Suburban services</a> between Asangaon and Kasara will not be available during the block periods, it said.
On October 7 and 8, several CSMT-Kasara locals will be short-terminated at Asangaon. The CSMT-Kasara locals departing CSMT at 1.10 pm, 2.17 pm, 2.46 pm and 4.50 pm will terminate at Asangaon.
Similarly, Kasara-CSMT locals scheduled to leave Kasara at 3.35 pm, 4.16 pm, 5.02 pm and 6.17 pm will instead originate from Asangaon at 4.12 pm, 4.54 pm, 5.39 pm and 6.54 pm, respectively.
The last local from CSMT to Kasara before the block on October 7 and 8 will depart at 12.30 pm, while the last Kasara-CSMT local will leave Kasara at 2.42 pm, the statement said.
The first CSMT-Kasara local after the block will depart CSMT at 6.28 pm, while the first Kasara-CSMT local will leave Kasara at 8.35 pm.
<h2>Four suburban trains cancelled</h2>
Four suburban services will be cancelled during the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/pune-mega-blog-updates-central-railway-completes-8-5-hour-mega-block-for-pune-yard-track-upgrade-converts-52-kg-diamond-layout-to-60-kg-23650120" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">overnight block</a> on October 8 and 9.
These are:
- CSMT-Kasara local departing CSMT at 10.47 pm on October 8
- CSMT-Kasara local departing CSMT at 12.08 am on October 9
- Titwala-Thane local departing Titwala at 11.14 pm on October 8
- Kasara-CSMT local departing Kasara at 3.51 am on October 9
The last <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-updates-central-railway-announces-12-day-blocks-at-kasara-from-oct-7-several-trains-to-remain-affected-check-details-here-23652828" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">CSMT-Kasara local</a> before the overnight block will depart CSMT at 9.32 pm, while the last Kasara-CSMT local will leave Kasara at 10 pm.
The first CSMT-Kasara local after the block will depart at 4.19 am, while the first Kasara-CSMT local will leave Kasara at 4.59 am.
