Mumbai city and its suburbs are expected to witness mainly clear skies, with temperatures likely to range between 25 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, resulting in generally warm conditions throughout the day.

According to the Centre's SAMEER app, the city recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 83 at 9 am, placing it in the ‘satisfactory' category. While the overall air quality remains acceptable for the general population, certain pockets of the city reported relatively higher pollution levels. Sion, for instance, recorded an AQI of 174, while Deonar 116, both falling under the ‘moderate' category.

Several other locations, such as Bandra-Kurla Complex (97), Borivali East (78), Chakala (94), Colaba (77), Bandra East (78), Mazgaon (69), Worli (60), and Vile Parle West (52) remained within the satisfactory range.

Meanwhile, Mulund West (19) and Malad West (49) recorded ‘good' air quality.

Overall, while Mumbai's air quality remains largely satisfactory, the variation across different regions highlights uneven pollution levels across the city. Sensitive individuals, particularly those with respiratory conditions, may still experience minor breathing discomfort and are advised to take necessary precautions.

Delhi's temperature likely to touch 44 degrees Celsius today

Delhi woke up to a warm Monday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 25 degrees Celsius, 1.2 notches above the seasons' normal.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Palam logged a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road recorded 23.6 degrees Celsius, both slightly above seasonal averages.

No rainfall was recorded till the period ending 8:30 am, the IMD said.

Delhi's air quality was recorded in the 'moderate' category in the morning with the average air quality index (AQI) settling at 199, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.

The maximum temperature is likely to be touch 44 degrees Celsius and the city is likely to experience strong surface winds.
