Lawrence Bishnoi aide arrested in France, another deported from Canada

The crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has intensified overseas, with an alleged associate arrested in France and another ordered to be deported from Canada, days after US authorities indicted jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close aide Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Friday that Garinder Dev, an alleged Bishnoi gang associate, had been arrested in France and would face extradition proceedings to Canada. According to the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Dev, 40, also known as "Doctor", "Rocket" and "Ritz Carlton", allegedly helped generate financial gains for the Bishnoi-led criminal network.

Federal prosecutors alleged he was part of a conspiracy to procure and transport large quantities of cocaine and heroin from Southern California to the eastern United States. Authorities seized about 99.2 kg of cocaine and 1 kg of heroin in June 2025 before the consignment reached its destination.

In a separate development, Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board ordered the deportation of Jashandeep Singh, another alleged Bishnoi gang member. Canadian authorities alleged that Singh helped conceal the weapon used in the firing outside comedian Kapil Sharma's café in Surrey. No criminal charges have been filed against him and Singh, who arrived in Canada on a student visa in 2022, has denied the allegations.
