US President Donald Trump praised India's strict electoral system to advocate for tighter U.S. voting laws, specifically the SAVE America Act.

In a recent Truth Social post, he highlighted that during India's elections, which included over 646 million voters, postal ballots made up less than one percent of the vote.

He also noted that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar recently questioned why US elections lack mandatory photo identification.

Trump is leveraging these international comparisons to drum up support for nationwide voter ID requirements, mandatory proof of citizenship for voter registration, and severe restrictions on mail-in voting across the US. "We need to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, now," he asserted.
