Asia Cup 2025 | 'Pakistan cannot compete with India...': Yograj Singh ahead of mega clash

Ahead of the high-voltage clash of Asia Cup 2025 between Team India and Pakistan, former cricketer Yograj Singh says he doesn't see the match as a real contest as the "Men in Green" cannot compete with India.

The Asia Cup 2025 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium.

Speaking about the clash, Singh said that since the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off in 2008, the status of the Indian players has elevated and there is no match between the two teams.

"As far as Pakistan is concerned, what will it do? It cannot compete with India. Since the IPL came to India, Indian players have become very big. Why? To get money. There is money here. It is a good thing. There should be money. Why not? Players should get money. Where there is money, there is prosperity," said Singh, who has played a Test and six ODI matches for Team India.

"There is no match between Pakistan and India. It is not possible. Because the platform they play on is clay. And the sky is where we play cricket. The sky and the ground have never met. It is not possible," he added.

The former cricketer then said the Pakistan team needs to change their mentality and match it with that of former skipper Imran Khan to taste success.

"I think Pakistan should develop its own team and its own people. Just like we think about our players, Pakistan should also think about them. Imran Khan brought players who were struggling with poverty and backed them to play. That is why they won the World Cup. They need a thought process like Imran Khan," said the 67-year-old former cricketer.
