PIC/NISH HAIR
Hair is everything. We wish it wasn't, so we could actually think about something else occasionally, but it is. It's the difference between a good day and a bad day. We're meant to think that it's a symbol of power. That it's a symbol of fertility. Some people are exploited for it and it pays your f''king bills! Hair is everything!" yelled Fleabag in the second season of the eponymous show Fleabag (2016-2019).
Well, she wasn't wrong. And as someone who used to exclusively wear her hair down, this writer can tell you that the city is too damn hot to do that. And so, we're on a quest to find new funky accessories that add a little pizazz to our zulfe.
Our first find is a safety pin. Yes, you read that right. But this one won't rescue a sudden rip in your shirt. Instead, it holds the hair together. We got ours from Colaba Causeway for just Rs 200. But there are some online websites like Nish Hair that are selling it too for Rs 499. Causeway might sound cheaper, but if you live on the other side of the Sea Link, reaching there might just end up being more expensive. For us, this pin adds a certain chicness, which always earns us compliments.
PICS/AMAZON
It's not just the safety pin though. For hair clips, there are tons of options. With a pricing between Rs 300 to Rs 500 you can find fruits for hair claw clip, sloths (and all sorts of weird creatures) in bunches, and if you are feeling floral then huge flowers. It feels so quirky to know that your hair from the back looks cool and pretty tied up.
This writer always put her hair up now and having a stylish, unique claw clip makes your day go by faster and without stress. If you have to travel long distances, these clips will surely turn eyes on the road as you walk by with a whole sloth tying your hair together.
