<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/air-india-ahmedabad-plane-crash-no-manipulation-or-dirty-business-happening-in-ai-plane-crash-probe-says-civil-aviation-minister-k-rammohan-naidu-23597610" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Air India </a>&nbsp;on Wednesday announced its interline partnership with Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines.
The agreement allows passengers to book single-ticket itineraries combining Air India and STARLUX flights.
Under the partnership, Air India customers can access Taipei via Southeast Asia gateways, including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur.
Conversely, STARLUX Airlines passengers can connect to Indian cities&mdash;Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru&mdash;through shared gateways in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/air-india-flight-from-colombo-to-chennai-suffers-bird-hit-return-journey-cancelled-23597591" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Hong Kong</a>, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur.
Speaking on the partnership, Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, said: &ldquo;We are excited to partner with luxury full-service carrier STARLUX Airlines to enhance travel options for our customers to Taiwan.&rdquo;
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/air-india-flight-faces-runway-excursion-at-mumbai-airport-23585729" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">STARLUX Airlines</a> operates over 30 international routes from Taiwan, covering destinations including the U.S., Japan, Macau, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
On October 1, the airline announced India&rsquo;s first non-stop flight to the Philippines. The inaugural flight to Manila departed from Delhi&rsquo;s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
<h2>Air India Express to operate 20 daily flights from Navi Mumbai airport</h2>
Meanwhile, several airlines, including Air India, have unveiled their flight operation plans from the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/air-india-to-move-select-domestic-flights-to-delhi-t2-air-india-express-to-operate-from-t1-starting-october-26-23597080" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Navi Mumbai airport</a>.&nbsp;
In its initial phase, Air India Express plans to operate 20 daily departures, amounting to 40 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs), connecting over 15 cities across India. By mid-2026, the airline aims to scale up to 55 daily departures (110 ATMs), including five international routes. The network will further expand to 60 daily departures (120 ATMs) by winter 2026, as stated in the release.
Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, said, &ldquo;We look forward to commencing operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport, as <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/air-india-to-commence-operations-to-15-cities-from-navi-mumbai-airport-23595388" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a> joins the league of world cities with more than one airport. This expansion will support India&rsquo;s growth as a global aviation hub and strengthen connectivity for both passengers and cargo.&rdquo;
Domestic flights are expected to commence by December 2025, followed by international operations likely starting in February 2026.
