Gold, which is long considered to be a very safe-haven investment and a symbol of wealth in India, continues to attract strong demand amid the rising demand during the festive season. The current surge in demand despite the price hike depicts the value that the yellow metal holds.
The yellow metal has been soaring around Rs 1.3 lakh/10 grams for 24K gold. Following the same, the prices of gold today, on October 17, also showed notable fluctuations across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The regular price inclination of gold reflects both global market trends and domestic buying patterns. As of Friday, the prices of 24-carat gold hit a record high of Rs 1,32,294 per 10 grams.
Considering that dollar weakening is one of the main factors behind the price inclination of gold, investors and buyers are still keeping a close watch as the precious metal continues to respond to economic indicators and market sentiment.
Gold Prices in Mumbai
As of October 17, prices of 24K gold stayed at Rs 1,29,457 for 10 grams, which is just marginally different from the prices recorded on the previous day. Apart from the 24K gold, the 22K gold at the time of writing stays at Rs. 1,18,667.

Gold Prices in Delhi
Along with the financial capital, the national capital of the country also experienced a slight change in gold prices as compared to the previous period. Gold prices in Delhi have been recorded at Rs. 1,29,603 for 10 grams of 24K gold. Moreover, the price of 22K gold was recorded at Rs. 1,18,813.
Gold Prices in Kolkata
Kolkata is believed to be a hub of jewellery designing and making. With gold jewellery currently in high demand amid the festive season, the gold prices in Kolkata continue to stay high. As of October 17, the price of 24K gold for 10 grams was recorded at Rs. 1,29,455. Whereas the prices of 22K gold in Kolkata were recorded at Rs. 1,18,665.
