Gold prices inch up in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata; Silver crosses 2 lakh mark

Gold prices remained largely stable with a marginal rise in the domestic spot market this week, while silver surged sharply, crossing Rs 2 lakh per kilogram. Gold rates edged up in major cities, even as MCX and global prices traded lower

Gold and silver prices showed mixed trends this week. While the yellow metal recorded a marginal rise in the domestic spot market, silver surged past the Rs 2 lakh per kilogram level. 

Furthermore, the data from the India Bullion Jewellers Association (IBJA) showed that the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 157 to Rs 1,32,474 per 10 grams during the last two days, as reported by news agency IANS. 


Talking about the gold prices in Mumbai, the rates for the yellow metal across the financial capital of India also experienced a slight hike. The price of 24-carat gold in Mumbai on Saturday was recorded at Rs 1,34,990 for 10 grams. 



On the other hand, the 22-karat gold edged higher to Rs 1,23,750 per 10 grams.

Gold prices in Delhi

The prices of yellow metal in the national capital have also been experiencing high volatility since last week. As of Saturday, the price of 24-carat gold in Delhi was recorded at Rs 1,35,130 for 10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,23,890 for 10 grams. 

Gold prices in Kolkata 

Kolkata is considered to be a major hub for gold jewellery manufacturing. Considering that it is a huge market for gold jewellery in India, the prices in Kolkata for 24-carat gold were recorded at Rs. 1,34,29 for 10 grams while the 22-carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,23,110

Gold prices in Mumbai

For 22-carat gold, 10 grams was priced at Rs 1,23,750 in Mumbai, while the prices of 24-carat gold were recorded at a higher price of Rs 1,34,990.

Silver prices

Silver prices witnessed a sharper uptick compared to gold. The precious metal climbed significantly to Rs 2,08,400 per kilogram, crossing the Rs 2 lakh milestone in the domestic market.

In contrast, prices on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) moved lower.

The February 5, 2026, gold contract slipped 0.50 per cent to Rs 1,34,218, while the March 5, 2026, silver contract declined 1.19 per cent to Rs 2,04,961, as reported by news agency IANS. 

Internationally, both metals also traded in the red throughout the week. However, gold was down 0.34 per cent at USD 4,357 per ounce till Thursday, while silver fell by around one per cent to USD 66.24 per ounce during the week.
