Gold slips below Rs 1.42 lakh, silver drops over 2 per cent on MCX

Gold and silver prices declined on the MCX on Wednesday, tracking weak global cues. August gold futures fell 0.91 per cent to Rs 1,41,230 per 10 grams, while July silver futures dropped 2.14 per cent to Rs 2,22,190 per kg

Weak global sentiment weighs on gold and silver prices. Representational Pic

Gold prices extended their losses for the third consecutive trading session on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Wednesday, falling more than 1 per cent, as weak global cues continued to weigh on investor sentiment.

Silver prices also traded lower, with both precious metals opening below their previous closing levels and remaining under pressure during early trade.
