Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday urged the automobile and automotive industry to step up investment in clean, efficient, and emerging technologies, while asking the sector to focus on design and domestic value addition to drive India's electric vehicle (EV) transition, according to news agency PTI.

The minister asked the sector to make products in India that also cater to the global needs.
