In an expected move, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday kept key interest rates unchanged for the third time in a row as it weighed the impact of uncertain energy prices and supply disruptions caused by the ongoing West Asia crisis.
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra, while addressing the nation about the key changes, also highlighted some important points. While the RBI left the repo rate at 5.25 per cent and retained its neutral policy stance, it also signalled that it will continue to closely monitor inflation, growth, and external risks before taking any further monetary policy action.
