Sensex, Nifty extend losses for third day amid elevated crude oil prices, US-Iran conflict

The 30-share BSE Sensex shed 373.93 points, or 0.49 per cent, to settle at 76,570.35. The 50-share NSE Nifty tanked 141.35 points, or 0.59 per cent, to end at 23,914.45

The domestic benchmark equity indices extended their losses for the third consecutive day on Wednesday amid surging crude oil prices due to the renewed tensions between US and Iran.

However, the market indices recovered from their initial setback and pared their losses towards the end of the day.
