Sensex soars nearly 900 points, Nifty over 250 points amid stronger rupee, FII inflows

The 30-share BSE Sensex soared 888.68 points, or 1.16 per cent, to settle at 77,654.60. The 50-share NSE Nifty surged 264.85 points, or 1.10 per cent, to end at 24,250.20

Domestic benchmark equity indices rebounded to rally on Wednesday led by IT and FMCG stock, as stronger rupee and foreign inflows boosted investor sentiment.
"Almost all the major sectoral indices traded in the positive territory, but the IT and Metal indices outperformed, rallying over 2 percent," Shrikant Chouhan, Head of Equity Research, Kotak Securities said.
