The domestic equity benchmark indices extended their losses in the early trade on Tuesday as elevated crude oil prices due to the geopolitical uncertainties and foreign fund outflows dampened investor sentiment.

Market movement

The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 585.47 points or 0.80 per cent to  72,186.25, in the early deals. The 50-share NSE Nifty shed 172.85 points or 0.76 per cent to 22,607.40, in the initial trade.
