The CBIC also issued clarification on issues related to demand, adjudication and appeal proceedings under the CGST Act, with a view to provide a uniform reference framework for officers engaged in quasi-judicial proceedings and to ensure consistency, transparency and uniformity in the implementation of provisions of law across field offices

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has come out with eight circulars, including guidelines on GST registration, raising tax demands and export payments, in line with the decisions taken at the GST Council meeting earlier this month.
The guidelines dated October 26 on GST registration contain a list of documents required to be submitted by the applicants and formats of consent letter, affidavits and undertaking, along with FAQs – thus reducing the requirement of seeking clarification or additional documents by the tax officers from the applicants during the processing of the registration applications.
