The domestic equity benchmark indices ended flat on Tuesday, albeit in the negative territory, amid elevated crude oil prices, selling in IT and bank stocks. Investors also remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy decision.
"Benchmark indices witnessed a volatile session amid the monthly expiry of Nifty and Bank Nifty, with upside remaining capped as Brent crude oil prices continued to trade above USD 110 per barrel. Despite intraday fluctuations, the frontline indices ended nearly flat, reflecting cautious investor sentiment amid elevated crude prices," Pabitro Mukherjee, Deputy Vice President Research, Bajaj Broking said.
