Sensex, Nifty end on mixed note for second consecutive day; Nifty up 76 points

The 30-share BSE Sensex dipped 19.63 points, or 0.03 per cent, to settle at 74,294.96. The 50-share NSE Nifty extended its gains for the third straight, gaining 75.80 points, or 0.33 per cent, to end at 23,346.40

The domestic equity benchmark equity indices ended on a mixed note for the second consecutive day on Friday as the easing in crude oil prices was offset by heavy selling in Tata Group stocks and IT stocks.

Market movement

The 30-share BSE Sensex dipped 19.63 points, or 0.03 per cent, to settle at 74,294.96. The 50-share NSE Nifty extended its gains for the third straight, gaining 75.80 points, or 0.33 per cent, to end at 23,346.40.
