Sensex, Nifty soar as crude oil prices fall below USD 100 per barrel; Sensex up 685 points

The 30-share BSE Sensex soared 685.34 points, or 0.95 per cent, to settle at 73,067.81. The 50-share NSE Nifty surged 220.35 points, or 0.98 per cent, to end at 22,776.10

The domestic equity benchmark indices extended their gains to the second day on Tuesday, amid an easing in global crude oil prices that decline below the USD 100 per barrel mark. The buying in private sector bank stocks and Tata Group's retail arm Trent also provided the fillip.
The 30-share BSE Sensex soared 685.34 points, or 0.95 per cent, to settle at 73,067.81. The 50-share NSE Nifty surged 220.35 points, or 0.98 per cent, to end at 22,776.10.
