The multi-city tour will commence in Bengaluru on August 15. After performing multiple shows in the city, he will head to Hyderabad and then to Mumbai for a show on August 30. He will also be performing in Kolkata, Chennai, and Pune in September. The tour will conclude in Delhi with three back-to-back performances on October 3, 4, and 5.
Record-breaking ticket sales
No sooner did Samay announce his tour and open bookings than the tickets began selling like hotcakes. The comedian took to his Instagram Stories to share how quickly the tickets across various cities were selling out. He also mentioned that a new date for a Navi Mumbai show would be announced soon and urged fans not to buy tickets from illegal sellers.
He wrote, “The love is unreal. We have sold 40,000 tickets in an hour for the tour. That’s a record… Thank you so much for the love, we will bring the house down.”
In another Story, he credited his mother’s blessings for making it all possible.
About India's Got Latent Controversy
The controversy erupted after comments made by Ranveer Allahbadia about parents and sex on Samay Raina's YouTube show went viral, sparking widespread backlash on social media.
Following public outrage, multiple police complaints were filed against Allahbadia and others associated with the show in both Mumbai and Guwahati. The cyber cell and Mumbai Police launched separate investigations in connection with Allahbadia’s remarks on India’s Got Latent.
Recently, Samay appeared before the Supreme Court. The apex court was hearing a petition filed by M/s Cure SMA Foundation, seeking a prohibition on the broadcast of derogatory and denigrating content on digital media related to persons with disabilities. The petition also sought the formulation of guidelines to protect the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities in the context of online content broadcasting.
