YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia landed in legal trouble and made headlines at the beginning of 2025 for his comment on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. The influencer and podcast host recently opened up about that phase when filmmaker Farah Khan visited his house for one of his popular cooking vlog episodes. During their conversation, Ranveer reflected on the controversy and spoke about the people who supported him during that difficult time.

Talking about the Latent controversy, Ranveer said, “My podcast was stopped after that; I had to bear a lot. I just prayed to God to return my work to me. I just wanted the opportunity to work because we were not even able to shoot.”
Responding to him, Farah told Ranveer, “Never waste a good failure. Always learn from it. Put your head down and work.”
Ranveer further spoke about the people who reached out to him with kind words after the controversy unfolded. “John Abraham sir called me and said the same thing. He called specially to check on me. He told me to handle myself and said this is normal in the media. Sonu Nigam, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Yuzvendra Chahal also called me during that time… I couldn’t change the past, but I could change the future. I got a forced break after a crazy, intense six-year podcasting journey. I’m just trying to move on; I’ve tried to forgive a lot of people, even myself, and to a degree, I’ve been successful.”
About India’s Got Latent controversy
In early 2025, Ranveer appeared on an episode of Samay Raina’s popular show India’s Got Latent. During the show, he made a remark about parents and sex that snowballed into a major controversy. The statement offended many viewers and led to FIRs being filed, calling the remark and the show obscene. Multiple cases were registered against Ranveer.
Samay Raina and other panellists who had appeared on the show in the past were also called in for questioning. Following the controversy, all episodes of the show were deleted, and future episodes were shelved indefinitely.
