Well-known rapper Muhammad Bilal Shaikh, aka Emiway Bantai, has received a death threat along with a ransom demand of Rs 1 crore. The threat message was reportedly sent by a man identified as Goldy Brar, a Canada-based close associate of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The message also mentioned the name of US-based Rohit Godara, who is also closely associated with Bishnoi.

The message was sent to a phone number registered with Shaikh's company, Bantai Records, on May 25. Following the threat, the rapper filed a complaint at the NRI Coastal Police Station in Nerul on Tuesday. The complaint was lodged by Shaikh’s employee, who first spotted the message. According to reports, the threat read:

“I am gangster Goldy Brar. Your singer has 24 hours. I want Rs 1 crore or else I will kill him.”

Coincidentally, a day after receiving the threat, Emiway Bantai released a song titled Tribute to Sidhu Moosewala. The song came three years after Moosewala was gunned down by unidentified men in his hometown of Mansa. It was later reported that Bishnoi, who has been in jail since 2021, was the mastermind behind the killing. Brar also claimed responsibility for the murder.

Emiway Bantai’s musical tribute to late Sidhu Moosewala

Following the success of Badshah and Josh Mei, hip-hop artist Emiway Bantai has added another powerful track to his Bajis EP. Paying heartfelt homage to the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, Bantai unveiled a special song titled Tribute to Sidhu Moosewala.

The hip-hop sensation has presented his own rendition of Moosewala’s hit number Dogar.

Shedding light on the track, Bantai shared, “Sidhu Moosewala is more than an artist—he’s a movement. His voice, his message, and his spirit continue to inspire me and so many others every single day. 'Tribute to Sidhu Moosewala' is my way of showing love and respect to someone who changed the game in his own way. Sidhu and I had actually spoken about collaborating. It was something we both wanted. This tribute is my way of making that dream a reality.”

About Sidhu Moosewala

To refresh your memory, Moosewala was shot dead in broad daylight at the age of 28. While he was traveling in his car in Jawaharke village, unidentified assailants intercepted his vehicle and fired over 30 rounds. The Punjabi singer was declared dead at a local hospital.

According to police sources, the Bishnoi gang claimed they eliminated Moosewala to avenge the murder of Akali Youth leader Vicky Middukhera.
