Assamese singer Zubeen Garg's death in Singapore has shocked the nation. Now, a video of him diving into the sea, moments before his death in a life jacket has surfaced online. The 51-year-old reportedly died while scuba diving in a fatal accident.

The video shared is being circulated online, Garg is seen in the final moments before his tragic death. In the clip, he is seen adjusting a life jacket and leaping into the sea to enjoy a few swims.
Zubeen had reportedly travelled to Singapore for the fourth North East India festival at Suntec, scheduled to take place on the 20th and 21st of September. Just a few hours before the tragedy, the singer had shared a warm invitation for fans on his social media account.

Sharing a video of himself inviting his fans to the festival, Garg wrote, "Friends in Singapore, I would like to invite you to the 4th North East India Festival in Suntec, Singapore, during the 20th and 21st of September. Come and explore the exotic part of India. We are carrying quality agri-products, craft products, tea experiences, dance forms, fashion shows and evening musical shows presenting rock bands and rappers from India's northeast." He furher wrote, "I will be there throughout the festival as a cultural brand ambassador and will perform on the 20th evening with my popular Hindi, Bengali and Assamese songs. I would like to invite you all; it will be Saturday and Sunday, and entry is free. All come and support us. Cheers!"
A video that is going viral on social media shows that only a few hours before his untimely accident, Zubeen Garg was seen in high spirits, enjoying live music as a part of the audience and events, spontaneously joining the band for a performance with his close friend. The impromptu performance is now being remembered as possibly his last stage appearance ever.

Garg fell unwell during a sea outing. Despite being rescued and rushed to intensive care, doctors could not save him. On Friday, the Northeast India Festival, in its statement, confirmed that the 51-year-old artist developed serious breathing issues during the scuba diving session.
"He was immediately given CPR before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared deceased in the ICU around 2:30 PM IST," the statement added. Known for his contribution to the Indian music industry, Zubeen Garg has delivered memorable songs in Assamese, Hindi, and Bengali. One of his most popular releases came with the song 'Ya Ali' from the Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut starrer Gangster.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his condolences on the Assamese singer's death on X and wrote, "Shocked by the sudden demise of popular singer Zubeen Garg. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music (sic)."
