The makers of upcoming film '31st October' have organised a special screening of the movie for the women whose families were affected during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and reside at the&nbsp;Widow Colony here. Actress Soha Ali Khan says it is a way of paying them a tribute.
Based in New Delhi, Widow Colony is run by the government, providing shelter to several families affected by the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 that followed the assassination of then Prime Minister&nbsp;Indira Gandhi.
"The film is not made with the intention to give justice to the victims of 1984 riots. We have made this film to share a story. Showing '31st October' to the survivors and victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh&nbsp;riots, is our way of giving them a tribute," Soha said in a statement.
The film's writer-producer Harry Sachdeva shared that "it's our privilege and honour to show the film to the victims of anti-Sikh violence of 1984 riots who are still hoping for justice".
Also starring Vir Das, "31st October" is based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination and its repercussions.
Vir and Soha play a Sikh couple in the film who try to escape from a riot-prone area with their kids post the assassination of the late political leader.
Directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, "31st October" is scheduled to release October 7.
