Listen to this article :

Q. Your fashion label has had a long-standing association with India. How did it start?
A. My designer partner Pamela Easton and I were introduced to India 20 years ago by our friend and colleague Sudha Patel. We have been coming to Mumbai every six months for the past 20 years. Indian craftsmanship is inimitable and extraordinary. Coming from a country that has a very poor history of embroidery and textiles, to a place where everyone understands weaving, embroidery and decoration is such a miracle. We have honed our skills here and shamelessly utilised every channel we could find. Since we haven’t been brought up with these traditional techniques, we can see them from a different point of view. We can take them out of the traditional mould and make them into something, which is something more modern and less explored.
