Deepika Padukone Birthday 2024: It's been 16 years of Deepika Padukone and one cannot stop gushing over her growth as an actor and performer. Belonging to a sports family, she ventured into modelling before exploring the world of cinema. The Bengaluru-based statuesque Deepika made her debut with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal, Kirron Kher and Shreyas Talpade.

Deepika did Om Shanti Om when she was just 21 years old whereas her co-star, superstar Shah Rukh was around 42 years old. Even back then, the actress would make many men go weak in the knee. However, some found it difficult to digest the fact that she was romancing a man who was almost 20 years senior to her by age.
In an episode of Koffee With Karan in 2007, Shah Rukh was asked about romancing a 21-year-old Deepika in Om Shanti Om. When Karan Johar asked, "Did you ever feel strange that you were working with someone who's actually literally seen you as a child?" the actor replied, "I think my first realisation that I am doing a few silly things at my age is when I did the first scene."
He wittily added, "I started feeling jhoota (liar). I started feeling, may I say the word, little stalker uncle, little kamina (bad). Ki main kya yeh choti si bacchi ke liye aise peeche peeche kar ke bhag raha hoon (That I am running after this little girl)?" Farah said, "Let me just tell you that the scene is fab. He's done it superbly." The host asked Deepika if there were nervous moments working with the actor. The superstar laughed and joked, “A couple of times, she said, 'I love you, uncle'."
Workwise, Deepika was last seen in Jawan, which also starred Shah Rukh. They collaborated twice this year. 2023 began with Pathaan and the spy thriller was a blockbuster. Deepika has projects like Kalki 2898 AD, Fighter and Singham Again. She will be producing the Hindi version of The Intern. It was scheduled to go on floors with Deepika and Rishi Kapoor; due to the latter's demise, the film has reportedly been put on hold.
